Quote from: antnicukwhy would anyone want to remove the scoop?   i have a front mount but still want a scoop

Wouldn\'t it mess up the airflow around the engine bay if you have the scoop in place and no TMIC?

i would have thought the air forced into the scoop would help push the air in the bay out through the bottom of the car,  just a guess though
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

i suppose it would be a really arkward thing to prove it it helps or not ??

there was something a while back about the need to get the airflow right in the bay to ensure the rear rotor housing gets some cooling air around it also. again, hard to actually quantify without a lot of test to destruction type work.

Hmm. And if we\'re talking FG bonnets, maybe a reverse scoop would help with the hot air extraction? Might mess up the airflow through the bay a little, though!

There was a picture posted on here recently, albeit for an FD, where someone had got ducting from the front of the car and pointed under the plenum!

I remember the thread about the cooling.  They where saying that lifted bonnets actually increase the temps (on fd\'s at least)  That the heat shield attached to the underside of the bonnet helps too and that the air is channeled to go out through the transmission tunnel and underneath the car.

I would have hoped that leaving the bonnet intake in place it would help the cooling and not disrupt the airflow underneath the bonnet?

Remove the rubber strip at the rear of the top of firewall ,it will leave a gap between bonnet/firewall and will stuck hot air out of the engine bay and over the wind screen like a vent without putting a vent on the bonnet.
