pop up lights help

hi guys, was wondering if you could help me

when the lights are turned off from the stalk the lights only drop half way??

but then when i turn the lights on from the stalk the lights go down all the way then return to normal upright postion??

could it be the manual switch in the car as my nephew pushed it into the dash coz he liked watching the lights go up and down:Giggle

Sounds like you may have a headlight controller fitted. These were/are popular in Japan and they give the driver manual control over how much the pop ups go up/down when activated. It is supposed to be "cool" if your pop ups only come up halfway! Maybe someone has found the control (usually a small dial) and this is causing the issue? I didnt even know I had one until one day I was messing around under the dash and found a "mystery dial". Turned out that it was a headlight pop up controller. HTH

How long has this been happening Lee?
If it has been like this since you had the car I would agree probably has that "lazy eye" convertion.

If it has only just strated I would be looking at the motors and seeing if anything is fowling them.

(1st seems most likely considering your description)
