Just been out fitting my new coilovers! Fronts went on no problem in about an hour :D  got on to the back ones and hit a brick wall! The lower bolts that hold the shock on are unbelievably tight! So far they have claimed the lives of 2 17mm sockets! Where anybody elses like this? Any tips for gettin them off? (Other than hitting them with a very big hammer).

Mine came off no problem (because I had a mate kindly do it for me! :D )

All I can think of is to give them a good cleane and a ton of WD40.  Leave it for a bit and have another go. :)

Get some penetrating oil, spray on in a fairly decent quantity and leave to soak for atleast and hour keep aplying if you\'ve got the chance.

Get a 17mm spanner so your not applying any twisting motion line it up and give it a good tap with a heavy hammer, your aiming to break the bolt lose so this is why you nead a heavy hammer once its free undo it with a socket.

Eh Voila.

i had that problem too. its a right pain. get yourself a blow torch and then heat the bolt up it should pop right off with no trouble at all. stuff the wd40 it wont work.

The rear\'s are easier to change if you undo the clamp holding the rear anti roll bar one side at a time.

Helps massively!!! And make sure you have both rear wheels in the air as this releases the tension on the ARB (which loads up that bolt).

Also, as said a big hammer will do it, same as an impact gun.
Montego Blue 94 R2 FD3S... Bling not included.

Fire is definatly the way forward! Got the blow torch on it this afternoon and they flew off after that!
