Hi all,

I am Soooooooooo happy as you might know i was having trouble with the ReX. On help from the kind people on here i performed a DE Flooding procedure and replaced my plugs and leads (WHAT A PAIN IN THE ARSE). First hint of a turn from the key engine roared into life (YIPEEEEEE) not that you could see the car as it was engulfed in a cloud of thick white smoke. 20 - 30 secs later not a hint of smoke from the exhaust, engine puring and sounding nice. A couple of points FIRST the car seemed to be on cold start for quite a while probably about 10 mins before the revs dropped to about 780 - 800 rpm, Is this normal as the car has been sat for about 3 months without starting. SECOND smoke starting coming out from around the turbo area not thich and not alot but enough to see. It only lasted about 2 -3 mins then stoped, So i8 put it down to the car being sat around for a while (HOPE SO) any ideas on this.

ONCE AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP

Cheers Garith.

Glad the club was of service to you after all thats one of the main reasons why we formed it because prior to MRC there was very little info about these cars in Europe

Hey. Glad to hear you sorted the engine flooding, it can be a pain! I dont think you should worry about the smoke from the turbos too much. Mine was sat in a bodyshop for 3 months, when i finaly drove it I got smoke from them too. Phoned my engine builder and he said nothing to worry about, prob just cos they were getting hot for the first time in a while, and just keep an eye on it. Sure enough, never seen it again!
