Right i have been offered a deal just would like some advice from you guys before i decide.
 
j-plate fd3 twin turbo
rebuilt engine just run in with 3mm racing rotor tips, 2 peice race seals, 750 primary injectors,550 secondary,arc ind not fitted, v mount supplyed but not fitted, pfc with neo ? 18" wheels not sure what make but look good(tyres to big tho 255 all round) standerd wheels with good rubber,blitz boost gauge in pillor pod,blue dayglow gauges,flip front dvd player,clifford 600,
car looks v clean and straight for age.
 
have been offerd a swop agaisnt our r-plate evo 5,tein superstreet,arc ind,hks bov, the evo has a few nigerly probs, side lights keep blowing fuses,cooling fan wines but the killer is it has 148k on the clock 80 kilo rest is miles.
plus the guy is willing to put £700 quid my way.

750 primaries and 550 secondaries? does this guy know what hes talking about?
255 rubber all around? does this guy know what hes doing?

Is there a receipt for the engine work? who done the work?

As I see it, you are buying a stock FD with 3mm apex seals (which arent really needed on a stock engine) and a couple of aftermarket bits thrown in.
If its been run in, get it comp tested and get a coolant pressure test done before you buy.
Check the alarm to make sure its not gonna cause your engine to inexplicably blow up

I would want a full engine spec in writing from the engine builder and a w/tee, a few bits there dont sound quite right hence getting the spec 1st

I would say get it over to one of the Rx7 Guys up at the top ^  Let them Drive it and tell you what they think.

The thing is If you get a Good Fd it will handle well and feel tight but if it has done that sort of Milage without having Suspension work and stuff like that it may not drive like an FD should.

But having said that my mate has a UK car with 120k on and it has been looked after since day one, that drives better than my 50k car, all about how its been looked after.

The only people that will tell you if it drives like it should is some one that works on them all the Time.

Go from an evo V to an RX7 no problems,i did last year, BUT joined MRC and searched cars on here reading all the members posts BEFORE i bought one, 36000 on the clock minor mods :InLove  with it.
Take heed of above posts doesnt make sense what you are being told, sell your evo then buy off here

right i have just spoken to the guy who rebuilt the engine (brighton)

some of the info was a bit off

so here goes

the inj are standerd
the rotors where machined to 3mm it has hearly 2 peice race seals, ports where polished ??
the car had compresion of 8.4 lower 8.8 higher
boost is set to 0.90bar
the guy has said that i am deff getting the better deal !! he qoutes cars worth of 8k plus
255bhp at wheels,just over 300bhp at the fly

GET IT COMP. TESTED!!! sorry mate that sounds too good. If the dealer is real he would be happy to get it tested independantly [even you agree to split the cost] it would put your mind at rest.

I can tell you guys, the car was built by GT art & the car is a very clean example..... the lad who owned it doesn\'t mess around, if he\'s getting a car tuned then he does it once!!! I was expecting th car to be worth around the 5.5k mark as that seems to be the average price for a rebuilt stock FD at the moment.......... I can also tell you that luke is a driver (the new owner!!) & you will be seeing him giving the car a work out up the 1/4 & track days alike!!!
