Hi guys, a bit of help needed. I have located an engine out of a 1998 RX7 with very low miles that i want to replace into my 1994 RX7. Will i incur any problems, i know that the 95 is slightly diffrent in some respect such as ecu etc... any help would be much appreciated, need my car back on the road asap.

I shouldnt see a problem. The turbos and ecu were changed engine wise after 99". All other changes were cosmetic, other running gear eg; suspension etc. What type car / engine because some have twin oil coolers instead of just one. Other than that should be straight swap. If im wrong im sure someone will correct me :o

i thought the 96 onwards had the 16 bit ecu meaning you would need the loom and ecu from the later car

Yeah they did.  You will need the Loom and ECU.

thanks for your help, will the loom plug into all other accessories and ancillaries without a problem or will i need newer parts for other stuff, or is it just the 16 bit ecu diffrence. Or could i just use the 8-bit ecu in it now on the newer engine or use a power fc?
