I recently bought a rex with T04e single fitted, and to be honest im after a bit more power, now i was thinking of changing the turbo when funds allow to mabye a T78 or T04R,on the fueling side of things im ready to go.Now at the moment on the T04e im running 0.8 on low boost setting and 1 bar on hi boost setting, would it be worth running more boost on this turbo?and if i did run more would i need it fully mapped again?at the moment on 1 bar the inj duty on the commander is on 52%on full chat, dont know if this has a bearing on the mapping side of things,if i gota pay to get the whole thing mapped i might as well wait till i get the bigger tubby... so im only getting it done the once.any ideas?

I\'d say leave it for now you don\'t know if its got a 360 bearing in and the smaller turbo\'s don\'t like going over 1 bar, you want to get your hands on a Bigger Turbo (T04Z :yes) then have it set up properly on the rollers with any other tweeks you wish to do at the same time.

This way you know its set up correctly and your not Guessing if your not happy with the power level your at now.

whats that turbo like compared to a t78?any idea?

Grizzly

Its like a fast spooling T04R, Its a Roller Bearing and is quite alot newer so better ;)

There are a Few people on here with them i\'m sure they will put you in the picture, Just get the Garrett one.

I have a Garrett T04E.Shes a great street turbo. I wouldn\'t run more than 1 bar on it though as they run out of puff as it were.  You will see around 400 horses with the right mods from a T04E. Bigger injectors, fueling, pressure reg etc.

The T04Z\'s are amazing turbo when compared to a T78 (if i read your question correctly). I have nothing against the T78 but the Z, as already said, is new technology. Blitzboy runs the Garrett T04Z and he hasn\'t looked back.

Travis, had the car been properly mapped before you picked it up?perhaps you not seen your TO4 at it\'s best yet!

The to4e i have has all the fueling mods to go with it,uprated injectors pump cooler boost controller etc etc etc and it made 340 on wgt dyno, the turbo imo runs out of puff to early,so sounds like the to4z could be on the cards:mmmm any idea how much you can pick these up for?

yea WGT set the car up before i bought it from the last owner,im just after something that spools stronger and gives more power,i had a modded supra before the rex and i know they are totally different, but i did expect the rex in single form with the spec it has to be a bit quicker than it is,and when i take it for a run it just seems like its the turbo letting it down, runs out of puff to quickly,i think ill go for the bigger tubby get it all mapped up soon as funds allow:Thumbs-up

antnicuk

about 2k for the full kit from Aus to your door.  not sure for just the turbo
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Is your T04e an HKS model? If so I\'ve got the same turbo... From what I read on other T04e setup\'s some have got between 340 and 380 @ the wheels?

Also found this on Rx7club:

QuoteI used to run a t04e 57 trim (i did 11\'s on 14psi with it), and that will get you your goal of 350 wheel efficiently, the V Trim isnt much smaller and should do 350 alright too
I upgraded to a T04R 63 trim wheel in the T04e cover because i am shooting for 500 wheel now, it only cost 100 dollars for the machining and 75 to balance, cant beat that
