Hi Guys,

My exhaust is an unknown manufacturer full SS system, 80mm bore silenced midpipe, I\'d like it quieter than it currently is.

My exhaust is falling apart internally as I have serious resonance coming from both the midpipe box and the backbox , looking at the backbox, there is no silencing material in the silencers (all burnt away).

So what I would like to know is, who would you send it to fix it up with fresh SS wool in the cans and take them apart, make good and weld up again ??

I know a few general manufacturing / structural fabricators who I could use as a last resort, but would rather send it to a specialist so I know I\'ll get it back right.

Any suggestions....... ???

I think (read hope) it would cost a hell of a lot less as SS is very expensive these days !!

i think i read this wrong first time round is it the silenced mid pipe thats knackered? if so then your probibly right it would be cheaper to get it fixed in instead of a new one. I would use hayward and scott, others are Viper performance, Tiger (who did clives exhaust on his yellow FD), phiniox exhausts.

Both silencers require the same treatment, i.e. cutting open, rewelding up the internal perf pipe that has come free, repack with new SS wool and weld it all back up again.

I\'ll give haywood and scott a call, thanks :)

the boxes can be opened and re packed, its a bit of a pain in the arse job to do and you really need the car as you want to tack it back together and refit it to make sure it still fits correctly, some of the after market systems have a mechanical baffle in them. i can do this job if you need someone im in birmingham cheers craig 01217530415
