Took my car for a jetwash this afternoon, and found my headlights no longer pop up...

The lights works fine, dipped and full beam, but they\'re still in the car body...

I\'m guessing its a fuse or a relay or something, but I\'ve no idea how to identify the right fuses / relays....!

Can someone please help...  Theres a bunch of fuses beneath the steering column, and some in the black boxes under the bonnet, but which ones should I check...  I\'m guessing its a motor fuse or something, cos they both stopped working at the same time...

pleeeease help....  :Grrr :Grrr :Grrr

Drove home in the dark with only sidelights on...  :2eek

Oh, and theres another guy in this thread with the same problem....

Have you tried the switch to raise the headlights on the dash? Will be safer to drive like this in the meanwhile. I had the same problem with one light not popping up and it turned out to be a poor ground - thanks to Clive for helping me out with that one.

RedRummy

duh, yeah I\'ve tried the switch  ;)

neither the stick switch nor the dash switch raise the lights... :(

the stick switch does turn the lights on however, so I need to find out where the fuse / relays for the pop up motor are...

Well, fuses seem fine (could only find 2 that relate to headlight retractor motor, as per Fish\'s great post here )

Eventually settled for winding them out manually, so I can actually drive the car in the dark, but still no further on to fixing it...  :(

Looks like its more likely to be a fuse or somthing in the drivers footwell, but don\'t have a clue which bit to check  :(

:Grrr

hummm my first guess would have been the retractor fuse - apart from that im no help ( if it was a FC i would have a better idea )

wind them up manualy don\'t drive with just your side lights on!

RedRummy

yeah, wound them up manually so I could drive it...  didn\'t know I could do that when they first broke, so had no choice - wasn\'t too far though.... :driving

Anyway, went outside to check a few bits today and they\'re now working again !!!???

Will need to keep an eye on them though... sounds fishy!!  :reallymad
