Just stripping everything out to put in my new GReddy FMIC, got down to the A/C Condensor.  Tried to bend it into a more straight position and ive split one of the pipes and loadsa gas came out.  :Grrr

what do i do now????? i never use my air con anyways so dont care bout that

chrisJDM

heres a pic showing the split

Grizzly

Pull it out :)

If the rads out already just folow the pipes back to the Bulkhead and you\'ll see two joints, Undow these and the Air can Rad mounts/any Pipe securing bolts and it will come out.

Just keep it handy incase you decide you want it back (for resale or maybe just like the idea)

chrisJDM

so i dont need it really, and the car willwork fine without it, jsut the air con wont work?? am i correct?

Grizzly

Yup, Just block off the two pipes at the Blukhead so you don\'t get Dirt from the Road in there and you\'ll be fine.

As i say you may want to keep it all in a box some where becouse people tend to like it on if you ever decide to sell it.

it gets better!!! lol, tried to undo the nuts and ended up snapping both bits of as you can see from the pic.

:xconfused

THis is not going well, i ahve looked at a few documents explainnig best ways to do this, they all say to use the stock bottom rad mounts, i ahve put it in place where these are and all seems way to close, doesnt fit very well with the fans back on, also how can i plug the fans back in the cable isant long enough.

You need to make some extension pieces off the standard mounting position.

Got lots of photos if you want any more ideas. Plus if you don\'t have the rad for the AC you can remove the whole lot, the bottle, the ac pump and all the plumbing back to the firewall. Removes quite alot of weight and the cars revs quicker too.

I re-plumbed the power steering line with a mini rad mounted to the back of the FMIC too because you have to make sure you don\'t just tuck the pipe out of the way, can kill the power steering pump.

Plus the cables can be lengthened by stripping the plastic cover away and splitting the two plugs, still a stretch but there is enough cable.
