Why is my paint falling off?

Just washed my white TII and all the paint came off one headlight cover and a large patch around the rear screen. I was only using a hose!! The primer underneath is really shiney - I don\'t think my car has ever been repainted - is this common?

could be cheapy laquer.... or metal damage under the paint...

white t2\'s do this... its happened to a few on here.

The primer should have been "etched" ( rubbed down) before the white was sprayed on to the car to key the top layer of paint to the primer, sorry but it\'s just down to a poor paint shop and it would not have mattered what color was sprayed it would still have come off !.

I have seen pictures of a few other colous with this happening but is mainly the case of the white ones (mine above)  I found that once it start\'s then you will chase it to the end of the pannel :2Confused

I saw a red one reciently, i thought someone had poured paint striper on it but looking at this maybe not, strange it happen\'s to some cars and not others:2Confused

Yep every white one i\'ve had has done this, but every T2 i\'ve owned to date is not stuck properly.

I had a Black T2 and when i was preping it for paint i could not Fether the edge back it would just Tear of a peice of paint.

White T2\'s are the worsed, DO NOT!!! Jet wash one.

Red ones Fade badly and also have been known to peel.

Its all down to how its looked after, if its had a Hard lfe (Not been waxed and washed with Fairy liquid/TFR every week) it will Oxidise real quick.

If the car is looked after and waxed regulaly it will last longer.

my black TII never did this! ....then again i dont think i ever washed it once in the time i owned it....not even before i sold her ....

The bonnet on mine was not that bad when I picked her up. Loaded on the trailer then drove home 200 miles and when I got back it was in that state! :rollin  :2Confused
