It\'s ok Gurj, thanks for the offer though :Thumbsup!

It had a full rebuild, new housings the lot, it never got used that much though I don\'t think by the previous owner, short runs here and there by the owners wife, it was rebuilt in 2000/2001 I think when it was first imported.

Quote from: Ian@TunerUKJust a thought, the alternator belt needs changing, it\'s squeeking a bit and I have a new one on it\'s way, would this affect anything I\'ve said?
If the Belt is slipping on the Water pump (eg. if its loose and has Underdriving pulleys on) it will cause Problems. ask any one thats had a Air pump sieze ;)

I would sugest fix any Ovious things like Belt etc then take it up to Pip\'s if you have a Coolant seal Problem you will know about it (Coolant Levels will drop and it will show signs of over heating)

If your Levels are not droping it may be more likely you need a Service.

But Pip will tell you.

Ian@TunerUK

Well it\'s shown no signs of overheating what so ever at any time

Only one man can tell you for sure becouse without seeing the car we\'re guessing.

I\'m hoping that\'s the case! I\'m covered for a worst case senario so anything less is a bonus to be honest!

Fingers crossed!

been to carls today, very good compression, so all clear in that department, second turbo boost isnt coming in all the time etc so i think you have less to worry about in that sense

That\'s good news for you! Is yours all sorted now then?

07737 257 377 if you want a chat about it fella,so busy but i would love to help.

(out for a mealtonight so after 10-11 is ok)

fiddled with the idle screw etc, tps, idle control valve and just made it idle that little higher eradicating the idle fluctuation to an extent and also it doesnt buck when changing gear now because the revs dont fall dangerously low, i was far more keen to find anything that may be causing it but i did know that if i adjusted the idle i could get rid but because mine didnt do it all the time i didnt go down that route. still has 2nd turbo boost issues but mechanically sound.

boost or more accuratly vacuum will not stay steady when the idle is hunting so i wouldnt worry there and smoke or steam at this time of year is fine, mine creates a large cloud in the morning but its steam more than anything, also with the idle higher the alternator is charging better helping to with most other issues

give me a call anyways fella

fduk.
