I was on Sparkplugs.co.uk...

I spoke to the guys at sparkplugs.co.uk and to be honest they werent able to offer me anything I really wanted.  NGK dont sell the race plugs to the UK, they even checked out the european arm.  The alternatives were very expensive.

Either chat to Mark (blitzboy) and order some through him, or see if Gary at Rotaryarts can get you some.

Incidentally the 7s and 9s are about £4 each on summitracing.com :) I ordered some other stuff anyways so got myself a couple of sets!

The bike plugs are NGK B10EGV

There are always cheaper plugs, you just have to be convinced on how long they last, how soon they will clog up, and whether a better burn pattern will benifit you more.

Gary at rotaryart.com is getting me some 10.5 racing jobbies as we speak. If you speak to him he should be able to get you whatever you need as well.

The Summit ones are the proper NGK ones so for my car should be fine :)

I have been running EGV9s/10s in my Cosmo for the last 6 months. Not had any problems, just changed to a fresh set for the winter.

There is a good thread HERE on Ausrotary on spark plugs.

HI CLive

Which of thoes 2 types of your site would you recomend

NGK Spark Plugs BUR 9EQ 8.44. each

or

BUR 9EQP 9.15 each

What does eq and eqp stands for ?

Quote from: ShyAuto.comHi Michael,

As many have said on this thread, you only need 9\'s in both leading and trailing spark plug holes in your car and would advise not to even think about anything different.

btw, We sell these at £38 a set delivered which is £2.00 cheaper than Sparkplugs.co.uk :)

I don\'t think 7\'s are available any more but you would only need to put these in a nearly dead low compression engine in an effort to stop it flooding.

Not that you need them but 10.5 plugs are readily available in the UK but cost £32+vat per plug :3Confused

Hope this helps

Carl

The "P" is for Platinum plugs, which are the ones you need.

Quote from: michaelbHi

better then standard RX7 plugs.

There is no such thing as better than standard. Using a different plug is not a performance modification. The plug you need is the one that suits the way the car is mostly driven.

I see "racing" plugs on here. Well, if you used a "racing" plug on the road, it will cause you a problem very quickly.

The ones I am getting are 10.5\'s. The car isn\'t exactly standard at 465atw and over a bar of boost, apart from country blasts only really sees the track, and is set up on 10s and 11s, so 10.5s should be fine thankyou :). The current ones are fouled as it happens, but thats (I hope) more because I\'ve had to keep it stored for a couple of months whilst moving house, and just starting it and running for a bit reguarly, instead of giving it a blast as well as flooding it a couple of times. Then again I\'m no expert so maybe some warmer ones would help, but I don\'t think so.

Hi Matiny

Thanks for the input

Most of the “bits” under the bonnet can be changed from standard parts to after market better performance parts, ECU, rad, intercooler, fuel pump, injectors, belts, ignition leads. hoses ect…

Surly there are “better performance” spark plugs available to Mazda RX7 or 13b engine?  Surly some plugs will give a better spark at start up when cold or higher speeds (motorway..) and will misfire less?

I agree and then disagree with you on that quote.  Yes the heat rating does affect the suitability of the plugs but the type of plug ie copper, platinum, iridium isnt such the case.  The burn efficiency of the iridium plug is going to be greater than that of the copper.  Should in theory produce more power and also better economy....which when im only getting 5mpg is possibly a good thing!!! ;)

Can some one kindly explain to me the difference between 9s 10s and 11s and which ones are suitable for my car or rather which ones will give me increased performance with out starting problems..

Thanks in advance

Ok, lets go again then....

Changing the heat rating is NOT a performance upgrade !

I agree that different materials could be, though.
