Hi guys,

I seem to have water coming into the boot and tyre well when it rains, I only noticed it lately with all the heavy rain. Anyway had a look in my spare tyre well on Sat and it was flooded with water :eek .... I\'ve been looking around but cant find where its coming from, I initially thought water was leaking through the 3 screws used to hold the rear lights on, but the gap is tiny, theres no way that much water could have got throught there. Where else should I look? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I dont fancy having to keep clearing water out everytime it rains :(

Thanks

Are you sure it\'s not just running in when you lift the hatch - try it \'cos when you lift the boot they all dump the water from the back window down the sides and in it goes. May not be the whole answer but could be part of it.
Don\'t think there\'s much you can do about it.

Check the boot seal where bootlid closes, check rear window seal also.

do you have a sunroof??????

Also check the sealing around the rear spoiler.

Hi guys thanks for the replies, the car doesnt have a sunroof or a rear spoiler (spoilerless). The Rex is usually parked up during the week and taken out only on the weekends, I\'ve hardly ever opened the boot lid unless absolutely needed so that rules out the water running down the windscreen. I will check the boot seals and see if its coming from there.

Thanks

Sorry for slight thread hijack but I have water getting in through the fixings on my standard \'92 FD spoiler mountings. Does anybody have any experience of getting the rear hatch trim out to get at the 4 inner mounting screws (looks a bit of a pig to me) I started and then gave up, fearing I was going to do irreversible damage! OR is there any means of sealing round the spoiler from the top to prevent water ingress. I do agree with the comment that water spills in when you open the rear hatch and I normally lift mine slightly to start with to allow the worst of the water to run off before lifting fully.
FD or not FD? that is the question.
