Hi All

I just had Apex pfc and commander fitted on my 96 Bathurst Fd.  Fairly stock car,
Tein suspension - lowered, HKS back box, cat still in, and Blitz BOV.  Boost gauge..

I had a nice map put on by ant from this club and MY GOOD, what a difference.  Thanks again ant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can not wait to put in a deccated dragon performance mid pipe – I am hooked on power!!!!!

Boost was increased ever so slightly too.  0.85 on primary and 0.8 on secondary.  The car felt sooooo much more responsive, especially after 4k revs - like I had a new car or as I have been driving all day with some load (like a pasanger) and now the load has been lifted – it almost feels like the car is lighter.

Having said that,  my highest boost on the commander reached 0.93 at a injection duty of 74% is that OK?  Knock sensor is not working right I will have to fix that...

Do you think does figures are correct? Is my boost gauges more accurate then Apexi commander?

Please post your views as it will help me to understand it all …

Regards
Michaelb

Hi Grinder

Thanks for that.  Will the injection duty go up when the dragon silenced decat gets fitted or will it stay the same?

If I turn up the boost to 1bar (not me personally but reworks ) will I need to get a better fuel pump and injectors?  If so what do you recommend?

What a drive ………..

Regards,
Michaelb

Hi ro284

I have seen your tread before asking questions about the Apexi pfc

You have got to get one â€" even with a fairly standard map you will feel the difference

It really feels like you have gained some bhp…

I fitted mine when I first got the car.  93FD

full decat exhaust, apexi filters. Turn the boost up to 0.9 at RE:Worx and had 100% injector duty at 6500 rpm.  (290 rwhp on the dyno)You run out of fueling so quickly with more boost and more air flow.

Fitted 850 primaries, GTR fuel pump and fpr, running a bar @ 322 rwhp and then went single turbo.

Get a proper map done if you turn up the boost, and watch your fueling.

its out of my league now matey - i drive a FC :D

1600\'s wouldnt go amiss - gives you lots of scope to play with - but you need a fuel pump to support it

Thanks for that info

Do people always update the primary injectors? (What are they stock if yours went up to 850?)
What about secondary?  Do they need changing?

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT

some people go 850, some 1600 which are the right ones I wonder, I better speak to the expert down at reworks...

stock is 550 primary 850 secondary

if you sticking with stock twins then can put in 850 primaries, (or perhaps 1600 secondaries)
if going single tub always get 1600 2nd\'s

** edited as 55cc primarys would be a tad tooo small !! **

if you are upgrading NOW and thinking of more power in the future then go with someone that will last you - no point putting 1000\'s in now as you may want larger in the future

im sure people have had issues with 1200\'s - so 1600\'s are the way forward

failing that run 550\' and 850\'s as stock and add 2 more in the throttle body elbow :D

you are BEST speaking to a tuner with your ideas and future plans though
