Sorry for the stupid question, my first experiance using external wastegates, How will i know which size wastegate to use, i\'ve measured the internal diameter of the flange that the wastegate bolt\'s to and it\'s around 44mm so i would have thought a wastegate of the same size would do??

antnicuk

depends what size turbo you have, if its not too big, 46 - 50 mm will normally be ok.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Garrett T04S, I\'ll only be running about 1bar max

what size (a/r)  is the hot side?

A/R 1.0 hotside - 0.7 coldside why you ask?? would you recon 400hp+ with the right mod\'s

antnicuk

is it a ported engine?

if so, i would go for a 50mm wastegate, if not you may get away with slightly smaller but 50mm would be best.

If its a good rebuilt engine with healthy porting i would take a guess at 350 - 370 rwhp providing you have everything else to support that sort of power.

Na standard port\'s im afraid, im going down the route of untill it throws a tip or seal i\'ll leave it standard for now, i\'ll think about porting it when it\'s in bit\'s, hoping thats not to soon!!!!. Cheers for the advice i\'ve got to start stripping her down soon
