Any of you guys running the same turbo as me?just wandering what kind of power at what boost you are getting?and what you think of the turbo?

I used to run a HKS T04R with a 1.00 hotside it made 380 at the wheels at just over a bar of boost on a street ported engine.
Great turbo IMO

It depends on what hotside you have on the to4r they range from 0.81 or 0.84 can\'t remember which up to 1.15 hotside. Max power will vary a lot from a 0.84 to 1.15. as would the max boost yopu can run through one before you start producing a load of heat rather than power. a to4r with 0.84 a/r will give you quick spool up good mid range and with right porting good top end too but probably won\'t have much gain above 20 psi. With the right setup about 450rwhp at approx 18psi.
a to4r with 1.15 a/r with right setup approx 500rwhp at approx 18psi.
These figures can and do vary as no two cars are the same porting and different supporting modifications have differing affects. Turbo itself is good but the front bullet nut has been known to come loose and kill the turbo prematurely. Hope this helps.

If it has the same bullet nut it\'s possible. There are some that have this nut and don\'t have a problem, and there are others where it doesn\'t take long for the nut do it\'s trick.

ok ill go check the turbo details lads, its just heres the dyno results at 0.8 that the previous owner got.....he said it was 356 at 1 bar...it doesnt seem that quick to me the turbo seems to run out of puff,i aint had the car long and dont know if any porting has been done when the engine was built,i really did think a single would be a bit quicker.

Sounds like you have the Small hot side, You may benifit getting a slightly larger one.

I had one on my T2 that had a .96 but it was never Rollered. It went a bit Tail happy after .7 but i never wound it up to 1 bar (did\'nt want to blow it)

it has a conventional looking squared off hexagonal nut, as opposed to a "bullet" shaped one..
