Hi guys,
Weird one this but when I was messing with the car I pulled a wire out of the near side ASB sensor so replaced it.
Now the light is not on and when coming to a stop the ABS kicks in???
Could the sensor not be compatable or something as the brakes themselves are fine it is just at the last moment before the car stops?
Any help would be great.

i think ive got the same problem...ive had mine since i got the car....its like just before you come to a stop, the pedal sort of kicks back against you and thres a faint sound of a valve closing....
i thought it might be abs....but i dont really know how to start looking for the problem! I dont ever remember the abs light coming on...infact im pretty sure the bulb has been removed...ive got a spare abs unit anyway and a set of four spare sensors from an fd i broke, so i might just spend a day swapping everything over...
the only other thing it could poss be is a loose spring clip on the pads...or a deposit on the brake disc.

Yeah I\'m thinking the sensor and I know it would be the front nearside so if I replace it hopefully it would be the same for you ( you would just have to find which sensor it was)
Where could I get a sensor to try it though?

See i was thinking it could be a faulty sensor...or ait could be a faulty or chipped tooth on the abs wheel....not 100% sure :( it also sounds likea  long and very time consuming thing to diagnose and itll mean my car being off the road for even moree time (its been 6 months already almost)

Try Tim at RX Motors for the ABS sensor, he tripping over bits of FD there :)

U have to be careful with a removed bulb as if it does not work it will fail the MOT.  On another car I had, i just wired the bulb to the ignition light so when the MOT guy goes for the test, it will come on and then go off when he starts the engine.  Not the cure obviously but you do need to see why its doing it as you really might need that ABS oneday.

Just an update Tim sorted me out a sensor and I\'ve fitted it today sorted it out no light and no ABS kicking in.
In fact the old one looks knackered even to the eye.
So SORTED :Thumbs-up
Anyone fancy a knackered ABS sensor £2 +P&P :D
