break it for bits or put it back together and sell it?

Hello all

This general out there questions as im not sure about 2nd value for parts

but last few weeks ive totaly given up on the rx7 and not sure how to get rid.

Dont get me wrong been great car and only prob its had is the lower gasket going so im half way thru changing that otherwise it drove amazing but sadly my passion for VAG cars is back and ive got a project in mind.

Ive also gone out bought new PFC, Stainles manifold for T4 turbo was undecided already got a great exhaust and de cat (top quality) all suppension is nearly brand new factory (didnt like much after market kits made ride to harsh) engine had min 7 bar all round never any starting or oil drink prob and body work was good only two small imperfections.

Now do i put it back together with standard turbo or with nice T4 setup? and sell on

or do i split it ?

how much have people got from splitting their RX? as im guessing back ttogether remaped on standard twins i should see £5500 min from it looking at other cars out there.

any sugestion welcome

Put it back then sell it and sell any bits you have spare for extra cash.

I\'d agree with Kieron - unless you\'ve got the space to store a car in its components (which will take up a massive amount of space - I\'ve broken bikes and that\'s bad enough), put the car back together as standard, sell it and flog the extra performance parts seperately.

If it\'s a non-runner or partially in bits, you\'d get the square root of sod-all for it.

I was forced to break a car, and if you have the time, inclination and above all, space, it can work out pretty well.
I got around £5000 back from a front shunt damaged car, definately more than I would have got from the thing sold as a damaged whole car, but it did take about 3 months and use up all available space in a double garage.

Considering prices are falling so much at the moment it might make it even more attractive than selling as a whole, problem is you\'ll probably never know until you try.

Im not selling as it is, as the minimal I want is £5500 and im not stupid enough to let it go for less than that because I cant be bothered to spend a weekend on it.

Im going to have to make a list and see how much others selling similar items

Storage not a prob for me I run a garage with two others and that fits 3 cars plus crap loads of space and at home I can fit 4 cars plus storage so im not that bothered I just honest cant be bothered with it any more ive already got enough work on.

P.s no offence but this isn’t a parts thread, if I do come to splitting it then I will create a different thread on there with prices.

They just keep pulling you back in don\'t they? I still can\'t seem to leave the dubs alone (my latest idea is chucking a 9A in a gutted out mk2 Golf C) although I\'m sure if and when I ever get this rex on the road that\'ll all change. Keep the rex man, you know it makes sense. You\'ll never get a dub to accelerate or corner as well as the mighty 7!

P.S. Don\'t suppose you fancy a Vento by any chance?

Mill speed ive got a vento as well thats whats kepted me sane upto now whilst rx been off the road lol

Anyhow guys the good news its running again and perfect I may add even on standard ecu. After removing all the emmision crap doing all the vac hoses and inlet gaskets STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU GET THESE PPP GASKETS!!!!!!!!  they work amazing and now know why the americans love them after driving car 1 hour 1/2 yesterday got home touched the inlet and it was cold!!!! i know it was cold last night but i gave it some lol

Car now MOTed and road tax and up for sale in the forsale section I know there is no VW like the rx standrad but im going to build something special

bingo thats the set I bought though give it a try as they seemed cheap and the yanks hadnt complained about them.

ok I havent had high boost at the mo HKS EVC off as I havent reprogram it so wastegates opening up straight away once the set boost kicking it about 7 psi i think instead of the 10 it should be running? but I havbent had a prob and I can see it being a prob. Perfect fit and well made.

Also yeah off course u remember my corrado dont you ? got to admit im 45% sure it will be a corrado but there two more cars I wouldnt mind giving it my own touch if you know what i mean and what ever it will be it will be 450bhp min twin turbo with 4x4 thats my clue lol Even sold my golf VR6 this weekend to fund this project

at least ill have my SV650 (looking to sell that and get a gsxr600/cbr600 or triumph 600 i think) and my vento to keep me going lol
