My car has a knight sports ECU fitted, but I know a man who can get me an Apexi ECU dirt cheap, is the apexi going to be much better or are they much of a muchness?

ScuttleRX

I\'d say you\'ll be better off with the apexi, its commonly used and all the tuners have experience of mapping them.

Not sure if anyone can map the knight sports...?

alexb

Ditch the Knight sports asap and get an ECU that can be mapped for UK fuel :)

FTORich

Guessing that means I won\'t have people wanting to buy the KS ecu then?

alexb

Probably not. As I remember they\'re fine on Jap fuel for limited (or specific) mods, but not a good idea here. Same goes for Re-Amemiya ECUs.

Jit

wasnt aware knight sports was mappable?

Bin the knightsports ECU :(. Fueling will probably be fine but the ignition will be way to advanced for UK fuel. Geff at RE:Worx has a draw full of Jap mapped ecu\'s so im afraid its really worth nothing unless you want to mix race fuel to get 102 octane :(

FTORich

I thought I read somewhere that Jap 102 wasn\'t the same as what we\'d call 102? and in fact a much lower octane?

ScuttleRX

I always thought Jap fuel was the same, I know US is different but that works the other way, they have lower numbers

Well if thats the case then the Japanese are fduking sh1t at mapping RX7\'s safely ;)

Trust me their fuel is higher octane than ours.

Using a knighsports with low octane, could it result in bad idle too?
