apparantly rx7\'s arent fast!

hehe i see this has had alot of response, thnig is ive had it a few times from people that just dont have a clue!! Guy in local car shop who apparantly knows alot about cars HAHA, when i first got my rx7 he said, oh they are nothin special are they i reckon my rover gti could keep up wit that :rollin
Then i told him it was runnig 300 bhp and he idnt belief me lol

Also its been called a mx5 :reallymad mr2:2Mad and also a celica :Grrr

Peope just dont know what is it so assume its crap!

And im sure alot of you read J Tuner, White colt in J Tuner, thats the car the guy was in, its not the guy that owns it, he seemed like a nice guy, it was the guy he was with who put the engine in for him who was goin on bout how great colts with evo engines are.  Oh and he was goin on bout how he was gona put a evo engine in his car and put a big turbo on it and get 600bhp :rollin

the only time a rx7 is slow is when yours running in the engine lol even then it still whips most to 60 lol

The best thing is when you tell them it\'s a 1.3L engine Mine wasn\'t running great to be honest...can\'t wait till after the rebuild/porting/everything else is done and it\'s run in and tuned :3gears-rh

the meet was for the Mitsu Colt club, and it was for the misus and i just went along, most fo the guys said "nice car" and really liked it but u always get one guy dont you who thinks he knows everything and is better than everything else, i guess he thought he would turn up and have the best car there against all the other colts, until he seen there was a rx7 parked up :flamed

I remeber playing with a rs turbo, i sat in 4th all the way home just rolling on the throttle, this guy was canning his to fook!!.. stoped at the shop n he`ll pulled in behind me.. lol he said "Wow! wait till i tell everyone i kept up with a rx7!! "

He waited 4 me to get ma beer, lol... i said keep up with me this time, so arranged to meet at at a local cruise bit in Girvin, like 20 miles away..
lets say i was waiting 15 minuite for him... he wasnt so chatty after that :no

Next time you see the Colt Crew set them a friendly group challenge at Pod next March, their fastest colts against one us

Superb idea! I have an Evo III with about 300bhp and to be fair in terms of pure  0-60 and 0-100 it is very fast, no way an FD with the same bhp would be able to pull off as fast, but once rolling 50+ I think the FD would be away.

yes i am i have found that i have raced a scooby before apparantly running 300 bhp and my rx7 is running around 300 bhp, i found it hard 2 keep up with him up until about 40-50 but after that it was no contest i could get past him easy.

4wd makes it damn easy to launch in comparison, not to mention the ultra short gearing on the Evo in particular. An Evo 3 also weighs the same as FD and has a very large power band.
