Is it worth getting either of these done on a rotary? Or should I just get some bits polished or powder-coated? Getting to the engine coming out stage so trying to decide what to do.

Cheers :)

well i\'ve Had a bit of Experiance with Polishing and 2k Painting bits??

Polishing is good for a while but the wax they put on does wear off and you need to keep bringing it back up, Ok for a Show car that gets constant Polishing etc but not a Road car. 2k Painting is ok, it Handles the heat well if its been preped well, the only thing i noticed with this is it tends to be Damaged very easly (scratches and Chips).

A mate has had some parts Powder coated and he is not to happy with it at the moment as some of the Pipes etc he had done sit near the Turbo and have started to yellow (The Powder coating was done in Summer so a few months ago) But i suspect diffrent makes etc get Diffrent results.

Cheers for the info....going to have to think about this one long and hard I reckon....not the sort of person that will keep polishing all the time.

If you were to go for 2k , if you can get it done by some one that can stove it it will be much harder wearing.

I\'ve got a few powdecoated bits in the engine bay (the plenum, the alternator, greddy elbow) and they came out really nice. Not had any problems with it really. It can be very brittle if dingged. Can get expensive though !

Not thought about ceramic coating to be honest Shaun. Also wondering about the heat transfer of each of them, not sure it\'s a good idea to keep the heat in the engine?

What\'s 2k?
