SO what is happening about this new version, everyone said it is due out in 07. And, nothing!:xconfused
Just like the bull  about the 24 hours race (LeMans) and Mazda for 07.

Ricco_04

There is still rhumors that it will be released at the 7\'s show in Japan next year - ie 07 07 07! :bandit

I hope mazda do pull something out the bag, considering nissan have thrown the gauntlet down with the new gtr :)

Mazda are sitting back a bit, They need to bring something out soon to kick back a bit:god

shaunwil

They should just take that cool prototype with the mx5 engine and stick a 20b in it.

Assuming they don\'t run the all Japan 7\'s meeting somewhere like Central Circuit as they did in 2005 (8 hour\'s drive from Tokyo - so was poorly attended) and somewhere more sensible like Tsukuba Circuit (As they did this year), then this should be a very well attended event, considering the date!

Can\'t see it being launched so soon though - with Mazda still being so tight lipped about it.

It\'s likely they will release a new RX-7, to compete with the new Supra and GT-R, as well as the all new Lancer Evo and Impreza Sti due for release in 2007.... just don\'t know when...!

I saw a rotary engined Mazda concept car on TV last week (the Senko I think it was called). More of an RX8 replacement as it had suicide rear doors and proper back seats, but a sleaker design especially from the front (didn\'t like the back so much tho.

That\'s the most pleasing guess at what the new RX-7 will look like that I have seen - and I like it (I wouldn\'t choose red though).  I want the new RX-7 to be refined, echoing quality and class that the likes of Aston and Porsche can (sometimes) pull off so well.

You have to give the tuners/kit designers something to play with, that way the consumer gets to shape the car over the years, plus it will _have_ to re-use parts from the RX-8 to keep the price competetive.
