dumb ass question but engin rebuild signs an general service needs

im quite new to this and have been following 1 thing for a while that a friend who also had a \'94 rx7 told me but now im not sure he has a clue what hes talking about

So whats the signs that an engin rebuild is due

An what service stuff do u need to do an how oftern (i.e. oil changes an oil filter changes)

Well people have diffrent ideas on this but i tend to Change the oil every 3k, Plugs every 6k, Gear box/Diff/Fuel Filters/Antifreeze every year.

If your Motor is Tuned (ie. single turbo etc) you may need new pugs every 3k with the oil depends on what Pugs you run and how you drive it.

Signs of an Engine rebuild, Ovious ones are Using water,Overheating, Bad Starting or MissFire. I don\'t want to sound like the Angle of death but i like to Compression test my Car quite often just to keep my Mind at rest, i would recomend it if you have no idea what figures your motor is Putting out (Comp test wise)  it will give you proberly the Most Accurate way of telling the Condition. But if you plan on doing it read up first as it aint the same test as you do on a Piston engine.

yeah i have been doin the same as that oil change every 3k an oil an filter change every 6k, spark plug as an when they look bad (checked with oil change) an coolant etc every yr

my car has been playin up a lil bit at top end when the turbos kick in the car has been splutterin a bit but i need a new clutch so ill try an get it all sorted at the same time.

Is your car Stock or has it been Tweeked?

mostly stock at the moment, iv added an uprated exhaust system induction kit, blow off valves etc

i wonna start doing more but if it needs a rebuild id rather spend the money on that than on tweeking it.
