Lo all,

Really quick one, I have a couple of senders for pressure and temperature... wheres the best place to mount them?

I\'ve seen a writeup where the thermostat housing is used and they\'ve tapped as in the pic:

If the thermostat is closed... how accurate would the readings be?

Cheers

Personaly I took out one of the allen key bolts by the filler cap and dropped the sensor in there....... Going to be removing it as the car for some reason is loosing water since I put it there???!!!! I\'m going to make an adapter that lets you put it inline on the top rad hose!! I know that the gauge wont read till the thermostat opens...... but I\'d rather that than loos all the coolant and blow the bloody thing up!!

I\'ve got mine mounted in the rad hose and I haven\'t had any trouble with it, plus it\'s an easy install.  It doesn\'t read until the thermostat opens but I quite like the fact that you can tell when it does.  Check out pics of my car in the members section and you can see the holder mounted in the rad hose.

It also wouldn\'t read if it were tapped into the thermostat housing until the thermostat opened. So it\'s much of a muchness really.

I have mine in my rad hose too, and it\'s quite a useful tool. Confirms that the thermostat is working correctly, and shows the radiator cooling correctly too. Shows temps drop when the fans kick in before the engine block sees those temps drop. So it\'s quite a handy device.

Right I\'ve come to the conclusion that I\'m going to T-Piece the upper throttle body hose as this will give me pretty accurate readings from cold, yes it\'ll be a couple of degrees cooler than the TS housing but it\'ll work from statup.

I\'m going to mount the pressure guage in the TS housing as its not as important and it will also confirm the TS is working properly :D

Another quick un, the plug that already in the TS housing.... is that the low coolant buzzer?

Thanks all :)

Quoteis that the low coolant buzzer?

Yes - that is correct :)
