It\'s never easy is it?

Someone stronger than Golliath done up the oil filter in Japan, so I couldn\'t get it off at all! I need my chain tool which was at home, and not enough room to bang a screwdriver through either... So another oil change soon, which is no bad thing to give it a flush :D

Still changed the oil OK, so it\'s fresher at least ;)

Then, the plugs are a different size aren\'t they? My wrench wouldn\'t reach to the nut and was too small :/ So back to the drawing board next weekend me thinks!

I had the same problem, took me five hours to get the bitch off. Chain thingy was no good, had to buy filter pliers!

Only £12 from Halfrauds, best thing I ever bought.  RX oil and filter in about 30 mins now :)

Now the spark plugs are just a pain in the ass!  I have some evil fricking thing running close to the front housings leading plug... not fun at all :flamed

i use a strap not a chain - and had no probs

if you are thinking of doing lots of oil changes - look into the drain valve - there is a discount code in the member section

My oil filter didn\'t seem to want to move wither.

Found the best way was a lot of screaming, shouting, swear at it a lot and then if it still doesn\'t come off, don the old dear\'s marigolds to give you that extra bit of grip! :D

RemarkLima

I had grip, just my weakling office worker arms weren\'t up to the job! So I think I need a bit of leverage in the future!

And going forwards I\'ll do it up correctly so it\'ll be undoable, there really is no need to do them up that tight at all.

I did see that but TBH it\'s only a 19mm nut which isn\'t too hard to undo, I didn\'t spill a drop of oil today which was nice :D If I had a chain of any kind of strength / leverage it\'d have been a perfect oil change ;)

Now for the plugs next time!

RAW

i always do my filter up hand tight and it always undoes easily enough by hand. i also have an oil drain valve now and it\'s bliss!

Yup, drain valve = brilliant... No need to replace crush-washers either.

so far i havnt had a problem removing changing the oil filter, i beleive it is easier to remove the front passenger wheel as well for changinf aprk plugs, though can be done with still on but its tight!!
