I have 10F and 12R for mine, I dont think fitting will be an issue. what pedal box and master cylinder set-up have you gone for, any links?

Cheers Ross, I\'m going for a Tilton set-up (2 peddle).  Link here:

 the wider the better. :D
are you thinking of getting them direct from simmons or a shop?
the prices range in a pretty major way from place to place thats why i ask.

They will have to be custom for the size therefore have to come straight from the factory, Alessio knows the main Simmons guy.

Fuel tank now ordered.

It is a custom tank made out of Carbon Fibre, built by the same company that did the SP RX-7\'s for Bathurst.  It has its own internal swirl pot, baffling, valves, etc. along with 2 intank pre-pumps.  And is 120litres.
Thanks,

Roll cage tube has now been ordered.  60 meters of it!!!  going to be a very complex cage.

City Performance will now hold the FIA homologation papers for FD RX-7\'s - nice eh!  (Carl - they know how to do the cage now, but I still need to know the best category).

Seam welding of the chassis will also start in a week or so\'s time.

There will be pics.!  just need a little time.
Thanks,

clive

.

Your going to be suppressed because as soon as you start seeing it cut into lengths you will realise that 60ft is not that much !!!!!

Pleased it\'s progressing.
All the best Clive

Carl

Hi Clive,I think it was 60 meters, not feet.
I am still persuing it Glenn,I have looked at the rules for Special Saloons,it is a no goer I\'m afraid.
I am still looking but the only thing near so far is dependent on whether you are keeping your monocoque?
I will mail you privately.
Kind regards
Carl

Thanks Carl - which part of the book did you think that it wouldn\'t qualify for Special Saloon\'s?  From what I read it looked ok - but you never know!

I was thinking all this time that Castle Coombe GT\'s may be the go - even if I run at the back of the field.  But again I don\'t know the class and regulations for the CCGT\'s.
Thanks,

Though personally Id look at expected lap times and try to go somewhere close.

1.03 around Castle Combe is pretty quick.  Im sure there are serious out there, just they are likely to be club series and not particularly well known.

Carl

Hi Glenn,
in the Saloon car series your engine is ineligible as it was never offered to the public as a road going engine.
The same goes for many championships.
I am still trying to talk to the people who run the Castle Coombe GTs.
The only problems with them is that every race is at Coombe and they do not like noisy cars.
I will let you know when I have something.
Kind regards
Carl

It is still going to be difficult to be competitive.  Some GT\'s have loads more aero and some have 500hp with 650kgs, so no chance there.

Thanks Lee, I have seen those regs. in the past somewhere and it has confirmed for me that the cars fall into the "Special Saloons" category i.e. they are not really Saloons.

Carl - again looking pretty closely through the Blue Book and that document link I can\'t see any reference to the engine needing to be a Production based engine.  Other documents refered to in the Blue Book are the FIA Appendix J - Group A docs. which is here: http://www.fia.com/regle/REG_TEC/Annexes_J-textes/255.pdf and it does reference the rotary engine (as per the screen dump) but I still cannot see anything about it having to be a production based engine.

Looks like we are all going to become experts on this eh!  :)

I think ultimately the car will really just be built to get out and have some fun, but to comply with basic regs. for whichever category (that is even a problem here in Oz - the 4rotor can\'t run in what we call the Sports Sedans).

I have a feeling that I will only be doing track days, sprints, etc. - which will still be great fun.

Noise shouldn\'t be too much of a problem Carl, the guys are pretty sure they can sort something.  I\'ll have a number of different exhaust configs. I think.
Thanks,

Carl

Hi Glenn,
What you have to look at is the regs for the series, not just the blue book.
I will let you more soon.
Kind regards
Carl
