Tintin

My bloody coolant buzer won\'t stop , there is loads of coolant in so thats not the problem

Pip things I haven\'t plugged it in properly , but I can\'t find were he\'s on about

I\'ve plugged in the sensor that comes off the front of the water pump housing , Pip has mentioned a single wire connector behind the p/s pump that connects to a lead coming off the block but I can\'t find owt loose off the block

What I have got though is 3 single wire connectors around the back of the p/s pump but I\'ve also done away with the a/c pump so I don\'t know if they went to that . One of the connectors comes off the harness that comes over the top of the engine , the other 2 are low down on the harness that comes up the side of the engine

Someones gotta help me , I only got her running for the first time today and I can\'t drive around with the buzzer going off its driving me barmy

One other question , does the ecu and the temp gauge in the dash have seperate sensors ? I ask because a while back I did the temp gauge mod and now I have an apexi I was wondering if it would cause problems if its the same sensor , apexi readings look okay but better safe than sorry

Yeah, the wire on the loom that connects to the water level sensor on the front of the filler neck runs to a point behind the power steering pump - this needs to connect to another wire - now, if you\'ve done away with your a/c then it makes sense that you have 3 wires back there. My coolant wires are both black - the other one white. Just try plugging the 2 black ones together - hopefully it should make the buzzer go off

Tintin

cheers I\'ll go and try now , your right though 2 black 1 white

Glad it\'s sorted - i had the same issue on mine, and I too had to ask

Tintin

don\'t suppose you know about the coolant temp sensor aswell

I\'m guessing there are 2 because the one I used to linerize the gauge is under the oil pressure sensor and there is also one on the water pump housing isn\'t there ???

Yep, that\'s right. The sensor the ECU uses is the one near the oil pressure sensor - the other one is used for switching the fans on on the radiator.

Tintin

does that mean that the wiring mod to linierize the gauge will affect the readings on the ecu ???

Basically in the mod you add a variable resister in line between the sensor and the wiring , readings didn\'t look odd on the commander though , was about 85C in slow traffic , fans kicked in at about 95C when it was idling on the drive does thst sound about right ???
