Hi All!

This is my first post as i have only had my car a few weeks and was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me?

1. My car is my daily driver, how often would you red-line it (i read that you must drive these cars quite hard - i have an 93 RX7)?

2. I have fitted a \'alloy AST\' but was wondering if an \'alloy rad\' would help keep temps down? (The \'AST\' cost only £75 but the rad would cost me £350-400 so pound for pound is it a good mod?)

Thanks

PS Any other thing to look out for would also be cool!:cool

Hello MKYBOY!

1. Yes - redline it at least once whilst driving.  Make sure it is warm first (not just the coolant, but the oil) i.e. give it a good 20mins before you start giving it a hard time.

2. Possibly it could help with the temps, as if you get one made you could install a slightly larger one.  You would be better off putting your money into a larger intercooler I would have thought (unless the rad. is no good?).

Got some details on your car? spec. etc. is it modified?
Thanks,

MKYBOY

Hi Glenn, thanks for the quick reply!

The car is standard apart from a full WGT de-cat and Alloy AST.

Red-line every run, MAD!!!!!! I feel some points coming on LOL!!!!!:rollin
My last car was a Subaru WRX and am very happy RX7 but am still trying to get into RWD!!!

What should i be getting in MPG? As i\'m always at the petrol station!

Darren, speaking as an RX-7 owner and a Scoob owner, I know where you are coming from when you say about getting used to rear wheel drive.

MPG depends on the type of driving you have to do. I.E. Town or motorway.

Town driving expect about 200 per tank, motorway expect about 250 ish.

As for the redline bit, you can just about manage a couple of redlines within the limit. JUST!!! :D
