Center Pipe

Dodgy description coming up, on the standard center pipe, there is a tube off it with a thingy going into it with what looks like a wire from it. What is it??? Is it important cause i have got an aftermarket center pipe which does not have the tube for this to go in.

Thats fine John, when your remove the cat, the airpump nol onger needs to pump air into it, therefor you can remove the tube aswell.
