Why oh why is such a nice car with a long ticket and a fresh motor not getting any bids!!! Back in NZ this car would easily fetch $8000 at least!
Boy am I tempted- now wheres my credit card?....

Haven\'t a clue why it hasn\'t sold. Maybe was a much bigger reserve before. I\'ve just bought one off alan for similar money and it still needs a bit spending on it !

Go on, these cars are very cool !

Tempted myself at 500 quid....but difficult to know what you are getting into in terms of expenditure to keep it sweet.
FD or not FD? that is the question.

What kind of performance does the fc have?

Erm, you realise that this is not an FC?

My thoughts, after reading the ebay listing again:

  • No photo of the rust so you can\'t judge how bad it is
  • Even though it\'s had a new engine fitted, there is no information about that at all
  • No mention of the number of previous owners, nor does the listing include the reg so you as a buyer can check for yourself
  • The whole listing is pretty much content free and the photos aren\'t very good either
  • No mention of any kind of paperwork, either

It\'s also not exactly the right season for selling toys so I\'m not surprised although I hope someone (not me...) would stick a bid in as good 1st gens are getting harder to come by.

Just my 2p...

I thought mine was an FD and earlier cars were FC, excuse my ignorance - that makes me worse than an RX8 driver that doesnt know what an RX7 is!!

:)  Yours is indeed an FD (it\'s the one in your avatar, right?). FCs are also known as the \'2nd generation\' aka the wedge and are unsurprisingly enough the predecessor of the FD. Can\'t remember what the code for the 1st generation is but it\'s a different code again...

At least you recognised it as an RX-7 :Laugh

well it didnt sell- and he replied to some questions of mine..said the rust is just some bubbles showing up. The engine apparantly has paperwork with it.
Engine looks clean and tidy which is some thing.
If I wasnt broke from buying a \'77 triumph estate, a rusty rx7 and a chevette in the last two weeks i\'d snap it up!
I like the colour too.

Yeh, The Bottom seems to have droped out of the RX7 market at the moment. There are Decent First gen\'s going for low Hundreds.

Adriansturgess

Trouble is, as with all RX7\'s..... buying one is the cheap bit....;)
FD or not FD? that is the question.
