Right can anyoner help me here

I have a 3rd gen 1992,

If i start the car in the morning and drive say 20miles the second turbo works fine ,

But when i stop and park up and come back to car about anything from 5 mins to an hour and drive away agin the second turbo doesnt work ,

but if i leave the car for a few hours or if its cold out side the 2nd turbo starts to work again,

what could this be????

is it where the car is left warm and gets hot from being stationary and maybe the solinoid swithes the second turbo off as it maybe thinks engine it is to hot?

anyone had this problem.

could be a vacuum hose, check these for any splits. sounds like as the car warms up the hoses softn up and expand makin the split bigger.

just an idea

what boost are you geting on the second turbo? does it boost up at all?

when cold it boost\'s up fine , well i belive it does ,

but when warm the first turbo goes fine and then power just drops of and gentelly rises while boost just drops ,

a friend said it could be boost pipes expanding when hot with a possible split thus letting all boost out.

A common cause can be the inlet pipe to the 1st turbo collapsing under boost when the heat from the nearby turbos makes it soft.  If the 1st turbo cant make 8psi then the 2nd doesnt come in.  Try to squeeze it when the car is hot...

I had this problem with mine.  It was a combination of old hoses (vacuum and air) and a sticking solenoid.

If you\'ve got the spare £s it\'s worth having the whole system checked and hoses replaced.  Might seem overkill but it get tiring fixing one problem only to have something else fail.  If one hose is hosed then it\'s likely other will be on their way out.

This gets worse in warm weather and summer is likely to highlight problems you don\'t see in winter.

Also, on a car that\'s experiencing these issues get your coolant system and flow rate on the radiator checked out.  I only had 40% capacity in the rad (\'92 car) and I belielve this was a major cause of water-seal failure and premature rebuild.

it started happening when my radiator split , i had a new radiator fitted since then an is still happening , how much do you recon it would be to have the pipes checked out etc.. closest place is RXmotors.
