Guys,

A few friends and i are currently planning a trip to Nurburgring. The dates are the 6th to the 9th of october, we are leaving friday evening after work and returning on the monday. We will be doing some track time on the saturday, but its only open for two hours - the Sunday its open all day though. I believe its about 320 miles each way from this office to the ring with the way we are planning to go. Just incase you don\'t know, which i\'m sure you all do - Nurburgring is a long challenging circuit full of high speed sections and testing corners, its around 12-13 miles long.

Pricing wise im not sure about yet, but i\'ve been reliably informed that the ferry will be between 40-70, then obviously you have fuel costs and track costs (its charged on a per lap basis, i think its about 12 euro chip may be able to elaborate)

Accomodation wise we will be camping, but there are plenty of hotels around if you fancy booking into one.

Current list of attendee\'s (currently myself and friends) are as follows:

Myself - Mazda RX7
Darran - either 350bhp Escort RS turbo or 330bhp Sierra cosworth two door (depending on how he feels!)
James - 240bhp fiesta turbo
Adam - R33 Skyline GTR
David - Subaru impreza STi
Barry - Mazda RX7
Gary - stage 2 Saph cossie 4x4

Can\'t think of a lot else to say really. Your all welcome to come, PM or post if your up for it.

Cheers

Carl

sounds like about the time me and a couple of mates are going although a lot of it hinges on the outcome of my rebuild and it ifs done by then! We\'ll also be camping but not at the official ring campsite....when we go, we usually camp at a place just off the 285 (or 258...the number escapes me).....its a lot more tranquil there!

Bobfish

well come along with us then mate!

as long as the rebuild done by then!!! Otherwise we might still tag along but with my mate in his supra and another mate on his zxr

incase anyones wondering about costs, last time we went, it cost 50 for my integra and 2 passengers on the ferry (dover to caliais). The campsite we stayed at was 12 euros a night. Cant really comment for petrol as its totally different in an integra!! each lap in the teg cost me about a tenner (i could do 4 laps to a tank)..

Also one tank of integra petrol got me from the ring back to the bp outside dover...obviously will be a bit more for the rex tho!

Bobfish

sounds good mate. Hoepfully my friend will bring his escort, its stupidly fast!

i went last year its well worth the new tyres, brakes and clutch i needed when i got home.

How Many Fuel Pennys Will I Need For The Rex? ( There And Back )

D1 WTF

lots :rollin

one2watch seems to think the whole trip should cost £400 tops.
IF YOU DIDN\'T CARE YOU WOULDN\'T BE LOOKING

Jit

hey bear in mind, that was in an integra!!!

D1 WTF

whats that suppose to mean, as it is an RX7 double that figure

nah...basically, i go by the following:

Ferry for 2 pas and car £50 dover to calais
One tank of fuel from calaid to the ring £70
5 nights camping £40
5 days worth of food etc £100

The rest on fuel! I dont know what a ring lap would cost...id guesstimate 20 squid a lap?

There are several threads on FDUK about various ring trips past and future including much reference to costs. We usually go by tunnel and stay in a small hotel at hohe acht which is about 5 mins from the Ring.

Think our next ring is toward the end of Oct as there are very few weekends with decent open hours left this year :(

I went to the ring earlier this year, total mileage including 12 laps was 1200 miles, now by my calculations that is about £300 in fuel alone (about 10mpg round the ring!)

Ferry cost us £75 each.  I can\'t remember but I think one lap was 16 euros but if you bought a ticket with 12 laps it was about 12 euros per lap, something like that.

Don\'t bother camping - stay at //www.ringhaus.com, it was £23 per night each three sharing, beer flowed all night, measures were doubles and the food was immense and cheap.  If you stay there say hi to Frank and the guys and girls, they are great, even spent three hours pulling the front out of my bro\'s rex after coming off.  Top people, top hotel and literally about 500 yds from the entrance.

You\'ll never look back after taking it round the ring (ok, that sounded a little  bit dodgy!)

camping is more fun though....and its only 7 quid a night for a plot which holds a car and a bike and 3 people. then you do a camp fire and drink the beer next to that....as long as you got a decent stove, you can eat well too....

Bobfish

so who is up for it then?
