Taking the Asbo out for a drive at the weekend, and checked the peak figures on the commander and boost was down to what its been set at? should be 1.2 and was reading 1.12.
So for a couple of days Ive been abit worried that something has broke, (after only just being fixed in 2 years, i think im slightly paranoid now:p )

Then driving again and i noticed that the Commander boost readings were lower than my boost controllers readings? (greddy profec)
So it was hiting full boost !!!:Hammer

Sometimes its 0.1bar down other times its 0.2 and sometimes its the same depending on what boost its on, I think this is nothing to worry about, and i will always take the profec\'s readings as gospel, just wondered why ?????:p

 Cheers, Andy

hey, im finding the same problem, im worried that the PFC is underreading (sp) the boost and causing a lean mixture. I have just purchased a MAP sensor to see if it sorts it out! When the engine is not running i am getting a small amount of negative boost!?? does this sound similar?

:2eek Never thought of that, guess what the pfc is seeing so is the ecu !!! could be bad then. Havent noticed any negative boost when the engine isnt running I will check

 Hmmmmmmmmm worried now:2Rolleyes :3Confused

I got roughly -40 pretty consistenly when my engine is not running on the pfc

Nitronige

yeah thats what I am getting, round about -40. But peaks about 0.67bar opposed to 0.8bar on the other gauges (dependant on boost setting). Also don\'t remember if it was like that when it was mapped? Hmmm...... To stop the worry, thinking about getting a wideband AFR.

Thats not a bad idea, how much are they and is it an easy fit???

Hmmm, been looking, and innovate motorsport do them, looking at about £200-500 depending if you want datalogging or not. Think the worst thing about fitting is welding a thread in the exhaust for the o2 sensor but if you have a welder, should be easy. Also have a look on turbobits.co.uk

Righty ho!!, had some news on the map sensor idea and boost readings, was talking to a tuner last night and he says that if a map sensor goes, it usually stops working altogether! He also suggested that the different readings could be due to the points the guages are taken off (ie the plenum chamber). Also i found out that the negative reading on the PFC can be sorted within settings on the Commander (only if your brave). I still want to get an AFR to be on the safe side tho\'

Now that makes sense,!!! maybe its normal then???:3Confused  Thanks for the info nige. I think that the wideband is still a good idea also, maybe I will ask Santa:Thumbsup! :Thumbs-up

You need a datalogit to calibrate your boost sensor, just need to lower the offset to compensate for altitude:cheers
