pop up light probs

Im having some strange probs with my lights,i assume it the control module or something like that as both lights are behaving bizarrely intermittantly e.g. one pops up the other doesn\'t & the sometimes dont fold down the whole way,also they are becoming a little jerky when operating,can anyone help gimme some ideas??

Are the mountings bent at all - this can make them \'sticky\'.  There is an arm on the sides - sometimes this seems to bend rather than the light move all the way up or down.
 
Also, check that none of the cables are fouling.
