stock oil pressure gauge, useful or not??

is the stock oil gauge a useful thing to keep an eye on or is it about as much goos as the temp gauge?

My seems to read random readings where as my after market one plumbed into just under the oil filter (on sandwitch plate) reads between 30-50psi all the time (revs between 1-3K under no boost as running in engine)

which one should i beleive

in my experience the stock one vaguely matches my omori one although i never look at the stock one.  i go for the more accurate after market.  recently though it\'s started wavering a lot esp when cold.  not sure what that\'s about! :3Confused
