Hi...

I\'m a guy from norway and the rx-7 is\'nt exactly the car people dreams about... (suckers :P) Every body\'s talking about cosworths and supras and so on, but my dream car have been the rx-7 fd3s since the first time i saw one, and when i learned about the rotary engine I loved it even more...

That was about 4 and a half years ago, and at that time I made my first real gole for life (I know it\'s a strange goal, but it\'s the only one I\'ve made so...), To own a Mazda Rx-7 FD3S before my twentieth (?) birthday.

Well... I\'m still 19, and I\'ve had my rex for abouth a month now, and I love it...

I know some of you guys are gonna say that I\'m to young and unexpirienced to drive a powerfull rear wheel drive car, but I\'m treating this baby with care, and my worst nightmare is to even bump it..

I used to drive a 323 GTX with a bit of mods, and that at winter and summer alike, so i\'ve had a bit of expirience..

The car is a 1992 Japanese Rx-7 Fd3S. It was first imported to england, but a friend of mine picked it up in england and brought it to me from there...

There was a watersealing that was broken when i bought it, but we did\'nt find that out on til after it was in norway, so we had to overhault the engine, but now it\'s up and running and I\'we already driven in the engine, and it\'s purring like a kitten :P

I\'ve got a lot of ideas for the acr, but since gettin license plates in norway costs as much as the car did I\'m a bit short of cash for the time, but before the winter is over it\'s getting a new pain job, new rims, Power FC, and some small engine updates...

Here are some pics:

the reason the lights/thingys at the side of the rear is gone is because they are illegal in norway... but don\'t worry... they are back on now :P

enjoy :D

Looks very nice...Is it red leather interior????
FD or not FD? that is the question.

Aikio

Thx...   No... it\'s a type R, so it\'s something like alcantara (?) in the front seats, and black leather in the back and dash...

Cool - Your car looks exactly how mine did when I got it.

Thankfully here we don\'t get shafted as badly as you to get hold of "licence" plates/register the car but I have some friends in Norway so I know how bad it is....

Can\'t you register it as a company vehicle or something if you take out the rear seats?

Anyway - Hello & nice car :)

Aikio

It\'s possible to register it as a "company" car if you just have 2 seats, but the weight of the car (or how much weight the car can hav in it) was\'nt enough to register it as a four seater, so it\'s registered as a 2 seater anyway, so the back seats are going away, and being replaced by the stereo..

At least you have one of the coolest cars in Norway - how many RX7\'s are there in total?

Aikio

I\'m not sure how many... but i think it\'s somewhere in the 20-30thies. Not much more...

Well done in making your goal and for taking on the rebuild yourself. She looks great.

Aikio

Hmmm... I\'v had license plates on the car for 10 days now... and guess what...

I lost my drivers license last night. got pulled over last night for doing 116.86 km/h in average in a 80 km/h road...

So now i have 3 months to build on my car :P

Well... I haven\'t updated this thread in a while, and a lot has happened to the car since then..
First, I got myself some nice 18" wheels, and then a friend of mine backed into the car and bent the front fender. So now I\'ve fitted a 99\' front, FEED sidesteps, gone bare-arsed and a full paint job in the original Silverstone silver... And I did the 99\' (96\') Tail light mod a couple of weeks ago.

At the moment I\'m also doing some reliability mods, because I\'m planning on getting it mapped for about 270-300 RWHP.
I\'ve bought a new RP fuel pump, and I\'m planning on buying some new injectors and a fuel pressure regulator. I\'ve got Apexi power intake\'s lying here, and a full 3" straight through exhaust. I\'ve also got a block off kit to clean up the rats nest, and I\'m thinking about going non-seq. And I\'ve got a medium FMIC lying around, so I just have to weld the piping.. And of course I\'m buying a PFC.

Here are some pics I took tonight... Very foggy tonight, and I\'ve got my winter tires on, so it\'s not as nice as it\'s going to look in the summer...

And here\'s a pic I took two weeks ago, but the car was dirty then..

and the summer rims when I got them:

And a pic of my winter car, or at least it was supposed to be my winter car until the engine died on me..  I suppose it couldn\'t handle me thinking I was driving the seven and flooring it at all times in the hopes of it going 0-60 in less then 20 seconds (thats the published time :rollin ) :3gears-rh

Grattulerar till en snygg bil! Ã... bra val med FEED Sidesteps dom gör sjukt mkt till utseendet!

Are you going to any Swedish meets with it? We are quite a few owners in Sweden as you may know. I am thinking of going to the Gatbil meet at Rudskoen (If there is one this year when I am free) :P

Keep up the good work!

Btw, you are crazy to drive the car in the winter!!!!!!!!!!! Be carefull.
Btw2 I have some sard 800cc injectors. Brand new lying around if you are interested

Aikio

Jo tack!!

I certainly hope I\'m going to at least one meet in sweden. Aren\'t the Svenske wankelregisteret arranging a rotary meet this summer? I remember a swedish friend of mine talking about it a few months ago. He has/had the only Rx-3 Hatchback in "Norden" I think.. Janne_Rx..

And the Rx is a great winter car :P Very well balanced, you just have to be a bit careful with the throttle.
And those injectors might be interesting. Are they a straight fit?

Hi mate. Where are you in Oslo? I was just working for SAS at Oslo airport staying near Jessheim. There were a couple of lads really into their drift cars in SAS. One had an FC and there was another guy with a big RX7 sticker on his tool kit, but I never got to have a chat with him. The RX7 is looking very well by the way. I don\'t envy you running an RX7 in Norway, the cost of importing parts must be bank breaking.

I\'m from Lørenskog, about 20-30 km from Gardermoen, but I\'m studying at a university that lays about 1.5 hour south of oslo.
And it\'s not exactly the cheapest car to own as a student... I\'ve got somewhere  between £600 to £950 in income each month, so I\'m barely getting through each month... especially when I\'m using all my cash on the car(s).

The one with the FC, his name wasn\'t Jan Tore?
