Rob only used hammerite on alloys got gold paint from car paint supplier for calipers - did you spray them with anti brake dust repellant as forgot when did my calipers was amazed how much was on them when took wheels off so given them a good spraying up.glad suspension all fitted and you are happy, take it you sorted other probs out ?

yeah, i realised you used hammerite on just the wheels, was just commenting on what Kermit had said about good ol\' hammerite and how easy it is to use! (maybe i should have put that! DOH!)
I used a drill attatchment (bit like a wirebrush) to smooth down the caliper (yep peeps i did wear a mask -alu dust, it bad!) then cleaned it up and painted the hammerite straight on. 20 mins max! Got a bit creative and sanded down the mazda lettering so it come through silver now, \'looks special\' (quote from my lass!). Did not use break dust repellant but after all the sanding i did not think then needed it.
Only probs left are anti roll bar links and small prob with 1st tubby. But hey, i could be sitting in the house waisting my life watching rubbish on tele instead of being out here in the rain banging my lovely soft hands off very hard and sharp chunks of metal! :Thumbs-up

Sounds good with logo shining through, still better to spray brake dust repellant on only a couple of months since did wheels thoroughly still a fair bit of dust on them, fronts far worse than rears dont know why

RAW

i did my calipers in black with smoothrite months ago and they still look mint, esp with yellow lettering on the front!  i just wipe them over whenever i wash the car so no need for repellant.  it does last and is cheaper than all this specialist \'caliper paint\' from so called \'car tuners\'.
