also anyone know what the sensor is on the right/rear underneath the engine that the wire goes to the bottom of the sump?and do i need to replace it as its broken.

mr_maj

mikey can you get a pic of that might help someone identify what it is!

Il give you the part number on Tuesday when i get mine.

mikeyh

did have one but deleted it as could post it up.

if they know what the wire on the bottom of the sump is(i think maybe level)then if they follow that to a sensor on the sid eof engine.

The green thermo sensor which Clive is referring to is for the ECU. The temp gauge is wired to a sensor in the rear plate below the oil filter and just to the left of the oil pressure sensor. Check to see if wire is still connected.

The sensor on the spark plug side of the sump is for the oil level sensor. It is not essential if you check your oil level regularly.

hi just called pip at wgt has both engine and water in stock.
but my local parts shop have the ecu one for 8.11(bonus at last)
now its a call to pip and get the gauge working.

mikeyh

got a new engine temp sensor and car seems to be idling abit better as well.
just waiting on temp sensor coming from pip.
so i might make it to the rolling road on thursday.
also thanks to pip for the little bit of advice he gave over the phone regarding emissions.

mr_maj

Kev you are right about the green thermo sensor, i replaced it and it hasnt solved the problem. What colour connector/wires are there? got any pics?

mikeyh

hi maj if you put your hand down besaide the oil filter you should feel a single wire going to a sensor.
im guessing its easy to get from underneath,im just waiting on mine arriving from pip tomorrow and i dont think ill be able to get to my rolling road test either.

mr_maj

Iv found the oil pressure sensor, there is a connector to the left of it, its a single wire connector. I cant seem to figure out where that wire goes to, its difficult to follow the wire.

Is the temp sensor for the guage underneath the oil filter plate??
