That is unbelievable.....Can understand how you can\'t be bothered with the hassle of fighting it but, really they shouldn\'t be able to get away with that kind of behaviour. It is a legal requirement to be insured so we have no choice there....But insurance companies can just decide whether to pay out or not, based on the smallest technicality, it really stinks....Makes you wonder how many of us in the club actually have insurance worth the paper its written on.
FD or not FD? that is the question.

Re:Worx recomended a guy to me to recover my car one of the many times it broke, John i think his name was. Good service and was £50 from mine to Re:I dont have his number but I\'m sure they do.

I find it strange that they wont pay out,  if the car was stock and a fuel hose split, they would have paid.  You told them about the mods so they are aware and should cover.

I also cant understand what difference it makes where you were going.  The policy states that you are not insured to race etc etc, which is fine, you dont expect cover while on the strip but this clearly didnt happen on the strip.  Are they of the opinion that this occured on the strip??  You have photos to prove not!  Are they saying that you are not permitted to use the car for any kind of racing?

The car is your property still, and you can do what you like with it.  Get the car and crack on but still fight with the company and if you win they will just deduct the value of the salvage from the final payout.

Good luck

edit:   could you post a copy of the letter up on the site?
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

BlitzBoy

I\'m with highway ... through Adrain Flux ... sounds like the underwriters are just as useless as their brokers - Adrian F&*ks (you about) I won\'t be with them again for sure (in fact I would cancel now if Flux didn\'t have a no refund policy :Grrr

Robbing barstuards the lot of them !

oldone

If our club is so strong, why cant we start our own insurence company only for Rotaries..??????????? :god

I guess you have to be licenced to be an insurance robber - and also need a shed load of cash behind you.

TBH [this won\'t go down well] If i did run an insurance company I wouldn\'t want to insure under 25\'s on a rex - better off insuring little old ladies in micras.
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Just read through this thread.... Total madness! Surely it\'s worth going through the courts?

robedwards99

On a similar note.. .

I wrote off a 10 year old CRX a few years back and got offered about £1500.

I kicked up a hell of a fuss as I\'d paid something like £3700 for it 6 months earlier as I had a bill from the previous owner for a complete engine rebuild by Honda. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing I got £3500 from them.

It might be worth pushing them.

Just spoke to Hyperformance who have insured me with highway, They say that highway are backed by lloyds so most insurance companies are the same.

Bloke on the phone could not understand why i would want to move my policy! he was just reading from his sheet in front of him,

I said am i covered if im driving up the road and my car bursts into flames,

Well err no, not if it wasnt vandalism or robbery.

But this is total rubbish cos i have seen countless lorrys and cars on fire on the M25 and never heard of them not paying out.

I think this case needs to be made an example of like the police do to us.

They cant be let to get away with it, Other wise why do we need insurance!!!!

Oh i forgot, to pay for all those fraudsters claiming whiplash
