Quote from: AshRXPeter the only thing that needs to be modified is the air duct.

The induction filters should be fine but a bit of a squeeze
Hi Ash
problems not the induction kit they are pretty good without chopping down its the pipes for the IC -  from what wife said the 1 on the right is round going into oval shape where it fits onto the upper manifold and left 1 which should fit onto a straight part ends up going onto an elbow - have to leave early and call at garage on way to work retake photos begining to wonder if pipes are for fc3s and they must be diferent - dont know for definate if fitments are not the same for these 2 models
Ash will post pics when i get to work, too much to get done this week on RX before TOTB sunday dont want to go in hyundai coupe but RX needs mot and car tax plus new exhaust fitting before weekend  :(

Pete try and post some pics and we will go from there. Should only take about an hour to fit. If you lived nearer i would of popped over and fitted it for you mate

peterwolds

Ash also wish lived nearer so could compare pipes etc.
as you can see from pics below the strut brace is not fastened at left side as when it is it is actualy pressing down quite hard on the IC pipe,IC itself appears to be at an angle but is sat flat on the cross beam.right side doug has used old coupling fitment to IC pipe from plenum as when used new one engine was racing more at start and when reached normal temperature was hunting for idle speed for a minute or two, with old one is back to normal start/idle speed revs.
baffled as hell doesnt look as nice an install as yours and another i have seen, any help much appreciated

Right start from scratch. Remove battery and all the induction pipework.

Place intercooler at about 15 degree angle facing over the main relay box. It should just sit nicely on the sub frame. The boost pipe from the turbo should then be able to fit onto the IC. It wont be dead straight and will appear to bend to the right if looking straight at the pipe. This is fine but will be sitting very very close to the air pump. Once the pipe is secured the s bend pipe should be able to fit in between the elbow and and the IC. It takes of bit of moving around to make it fit correctly. The length of the pipes and the angles that they are at holds the IC in place and at a slight angle towards the air duct. The strut brace should miss the pipe by about 1/2 inch.

It might be a simple case of something in the way blocking it from sitting correctly .....

Hi Peter,

Really sorry for not getting that photo posted for you.  Will do tomorrow when at work with bluetooth.

Basically as the lads have said you have to angle the cooler so that the bottom rests on the sumframe adjacent the fans and the top lies under where the duct cover would sit.  This is why most people dont re-fit the duct cover, but if you do (like me) you have to cut off the leading edge at the front.

It must be said that I used the LH pipe from my Amemiya kit and the RH pipe that came with the kit, as it was a better fit.  The silicone supplied with the kit is also a tight fit and takes a bit of work to stretch over for a good fit.

Will post a pic to show this tom.
