Can anyone tell me about the difference between RHD and LHD cars when it comes to fitting a single turbo.

I have read some places that a LHD kit will not fit a RHD vehicle, is this correct?

I know someone sellign a kit and he has told me i would just need a new downpipe fabricated for his kit to fit my JDM car.

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

thanks

That is correct.

On LHD cars, the steering column is on the left hand side - the other side to the downpipe. But on RHD the steering column is on the right hand side - the side where the downpipe is, and can get in the way.

i know about the physical differences also the ABS and master brake cylinder are the reverse but wil lthe US manifold fit ok with the steering column there. Is it a simple case of getting a new downpipe made or does it need a different manifold ?

thanks

The downpipe should fit with no issues, it\'s the exhaust manifold itself (probably the wastegate runners) that will foul the steering column on most US kits.

All depends on the kit and who makes it. Some kits do work, although I cant think of any off hand.
