Does anyone know what the lap record is for a FD3S at the nurburgring?

Trying to settle a work arguement that the M3 CSL is better than the RX7

Cheers

standard for standard i think you\'d struggle to win that arguement to be honest, those CSL\'s are awesome cars!

i know Phil G is quick but then his car is heavily modified with twice the stock HP,  A stock CSL would be very quick i would imagine, they were when i was there last week.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

True standard for standard M3 CSL
Both modified dont know, Phil G has been round there in 7 mins 50 something seconds

monkey-fd3s

We\'re talking std v\'s modified because for the price of a M3 CSL you could have a very modified RX. (even at 1/2 the money)

BlitzBoy

Ant and Gary are right Phil G with that time holds the record for a modified FD 7min 50secs.
M3s are bulit as ringmeisters straight out the factory awesome bit of standard kit but yes your right expensive to buy brand new

Yeap no doubting that the M3 CSL is a nice car but not sure I\'d spend my money on one.

That\'s a great time; :2eek

Phil G = Ace driver me thinks :)

Thanks guys...

A bone stock 380bhp M3 CSL fitted with sports tyres and a talented pilot did the \'Ring\' in 7:50 dead according to various BMW sites.

Adriansturgess

Didn\'t think they are 380bhp stock?????
FD or not FD? that is the question.

I had a play with one coming down the M11 last week. He became quite irate that he couldn\'t get the slippery banana out of his rear view mirror. He even did (edit - quite a lot, but not THAT much ) odd round the corner where the m11 goes onto the m25 west.

Obviously I stayed below 70mph at all times but due to the slippery banana being so yellow and slippery it didn\'t get left behind :)

Well, if the old Bill had stopped you, could have just complained that you\'d got sucked along in his slipstream....Nothing you could do about it...:chat

Like I said I stayed below 70mph :)

AtomicRex

Is that time of 7:50 BTG or full lap???

The CSL has a time of 7:32 Full lap, and you can knock off 20 seconds for getting between the 2...although that depends on gearing!

i know that junction well.  I dont think 150 mph is feasible.
