Strangley after getting the turbo system checked over and all the silicon changed to ensure maximum power i have noticed the rev are sitting a bit high in idle....

It used to sit at approx 1000 in neutral and with clutch down, but now it sits at 1600 in neutral and 2200 with clutch down.

I checked the Apexi and made sure the settings for rev-idle to about 900 from 1000 but it was already ok.

I know the clutch is starting to slip, could it be this?? What do other people\'s rev at?

Hello mate,

Not much help to you but mine idles at about 850rpm.

It its a cold start then it will idle at about 1,200rpm and steadly drop to 850rpm :)

Sounds like the idle valve is not plugged in. Its behind the inlet plenum up against the bulk head..the hardest place in the world to get a hand.
The idle valve is a black cylinder lying horizontal. The plug you want is white. Check its in place.
Also check the throttle is resting against its stop.
For the apexi the idle screw needs screwing all the way in and back out half a turn. That screw is located in the throttle body. If you are looking face on to the butterflys then the screw is at the bottom between the two lower bolts. Taking the elbow off helps first time. But you can get a screwdriver to it without removing.

After adjusting start the car and leave for ten minutes and then turn the fan and lights on and leave for ten minutes. Allows the apexi to \'learn\' the idle.
Check these three things...good luck!

Some good advice there, thanks for that. I\'ll give them a try.

I checked the above and the throttle seems a little looser than i was expecting, but i can\'t find that screw for tightening it... Has anyone got any pictures to point out to me where it is.

Typically it\'s probably in plain sight so i can\'t see it....

bump - just to bring this back to top cos i\'m sad and still can\'t that screw.

My throttle linkage is a loose as can be. Doesn\'t cause problems though. There is a sprung screw sitting vertically just behind the throttle. This is the stop. Is it sittling against this?

Did you find the screw in throttle bodies  at the bottom as you look at the butterflys?

Ahhh, i did find that vertical screw (it looks as if it doesn\'t do anything cos it\'s not against the throttle) but i tightened it somewhat and when i turned the engine on it revved the 3000 revs!!!

I didn\'t screw it all the way in though, so could it be that the revs will go back down as i fully tighten it???

Couldn\'t see the screw in the throttle body though... it really would help if i knew what i was doing :2Rolleyes

Right. Your throttle should be resting against that stop but if its been adjusted it may not. Take the large elbow off and look to see it the butterflys are fully closed. Should be a very small gap on the lower single butterfly only. Find the idle screw at the same time and screw in as described above.
screw throttle stop in till it just moves the throttle up a little.
Could be your idle control valve is stuck. Remove and soak in carb cleaner. Download the manual for instruction on this.

Cheers Jon - i\'ll try all that out.
