Question on my second turbo.

When i am accelerating sometime\'s the second turbo does kick in? any idea\'s

And sometime\'s it kicks in all the time, then it doesn\'t kick in on any gears?

I am thinking of replacing all the pipe\'s as this could be a issue, have checked all the pipe\'s but can\'t see anything wrong with them.

So any suggestion\'s would be good.

It is todo with the pipes going to the intercooler. just looked and under the strut brace there is some movement, so i will have a look tonight when i get back from work.

I will probably be selling my efini Y-pipe very soon. Keep an eye out in the for sale section! :)

Alright,
How did you get on?
Did replacing the Y-pipe fix the issue?
Any tips / tricks?
I am experiencing exactly the same thing!

Hi, Pedro, a quick update,

Found that the jubilee clip was loose and the pipe was slightly out.

So put a new clip on there , and made sure everything was ok, then took for a spin onced warmed up and both turbo\'s have kicked in, but it not taken it for a long run yet. So will check and let you know.

If it doesn\'t fix the problem i am back to square one.

Nice one, glad you got it fixed.

Unfortunately my problems have run deeper,....
So I took it to Hayward Rotary. Really happy with their work and attitude, so it is on the road to recovery... it is going to be better than ever!

Has Carl told you what the problem was with it?

Soun\'s similar to what was happening to mine!! turned out to be a perished pipe on the pre spool actuator!! changed them both and all has been fine since!!!

Yes, they were very helpful in explaining what was wrong.
They discovered I was only getting 0.2-0.3 bar so then went to work.
The first issue was a split in the pipe running from the turbo unit to the intercooler. Replacing this fixed the pressure issue.
But then the car wasn\'t running well at all and it was discovered that the coil pack was rather worse for wear. So that was replaced.
So it is running really well now but there is still an intermittant issue with the second turbo holding 0.7 bar so that is work in progress..... Hopefully it will be something fairly simple... fingers crossed!
looking forward to getting it all sorted.

cheers

All good stuff fella, hope you fix it soon.  I seem to have lived with mine for far too long so am working on it now!
