What voltage should I be seeing on PFC commander for a FD. The reason is i changed battery at beginning of the year and was getting 14.1-14.2 volts from it, then it started being really eratic dropping to 11.5 and going up to 14.5. So I changed the alternator.

Left the car for a week and the alarm went off for 10 minutes until turned off. Left the car for 3 more days, battery flat as anything only 1.7 volts.

Managed to bump start it and on the way home it was showing 13.5 - 13.6 v so I swapped the battery again for a new battery and now its showing constant 13.6 -13.8 v. Is this ok, or could there be another problem somewhere?

Dont really want to risk getting another flat battery and the flooding the engine trying to turn it over.

Cheers

Mine constantly reads 13.5-13.8 volts, so unless we have the same problem.....  :)

Hope not lol

So looks ok then

AshRX

just got told it shuld be 14.4v now puzzled

richard cash

mine reads around 14.1 but doesnt it depend on what your running. I.e at ignition it should read over 14, but with the car running and air con, all lights and every other electrical component on it will be lower.

CRC83

A car @ Idle should run at 14.4, but when cars are moving or other electrical  systems are beiong used cars tend to run 12- 13.

a health 12V battery with car turned off will read 12 v

any reading above this means it is receiving charge.

mine runs at 13.5-13.8 also

If you are unsure about your battery, and from what i can gather about these cars need better electrical power then why not invest in a decent dry cell battery from Optima or Stinger etc. Dry Cell batteries (and I say is as an owner of one) xreally are a the best source of electrical power for a car.

Now got a smaller one on due to FMIC and idle its 14.1 -14.2 and when driving anywhere from 13.6 - 14.0 so all cool now
