What kind of water temps do ya get in traffic?

My Rx7 is allmost stock "just open airfilter and catback" 1994 24000km\'s on it.

"outside temp 24c"
City: up too 105c
Nice Highway driving: 75c
Hard: 85c

What do ya get?

All depends on what mods have been done to the engine and cooling system as everyone will have almost different figures from everyone else. Also depends on what front nose you have on your car to allow more air flow into the intercooler :Giggle

City traffic - 90oC

M-way driving - 75oC

Winter driving - 72oC - open thermostat  :cool

Usual summer intake 27oC winter anything as low as 2-5oC

McCARTHY

past few days i,v seen 70-75 on motorway, 80-85 in traffic and 85 whilst driving hard.

toyzRus

i dont like it when my temp rises too 105 at stops :(
Im waiting for my pfc so i can recheck the temp " i dont trust my greddy water gauge".

McCARTHY

put a switch on the wirers that go to the fans that way you can just flick the switch instead of waiting for the car to do it.

Isn\'t there a fan control on the PFC?

toyzRus

yes it is. I allways use the ac to turn on the fan\'s. I gonna use this rx7 for track, so i need to be sure it dont overheat :(

Ive allready ordered 8pots d2 brakes and d2 coiloverkit. Maby a new and more open downpipe will reduse my temps, making it more open.

Mave

I\'ve got stock bumper and bonnet, HKS twin air filters with no heat shielding :( and a bigish exhaust. At the moment I\'m seeing about 90C in traffic, 85 on a run, with the A/C switched on all the time to keep the fans on around town.

M@r]{

83-88 on a run.  Hard driving that goes up to 90-91.

nikp

As long as your fans are kicking in at 105 and bringing the temps down, then you don\'t really have a problem. You say your car is basically stock, if thats the case then that\'s what temp the fans are meant to kick in. All you temps seem reasonable to be honest. They could be cooler, but there\'s nothing to get overtly worried about at the moment.

I agree with Nik\'s comments.
Also was in motorway queue on hot day last week-for quite some time-water temps-crept up to around 100+ -i just switch on the AC which tends to reduce to around mid 90\'s.-that\'s fine.
Being able to see all these temps is both good and bad!! :driving

toyzRus

im not "that" worried in citydriving and street. Im afraid it will boilover at the racing tracks :3gears-rh
Time will tell :)
