Hi,

Having to replace the Heater Matrix on my car, rats nest before that and it got me thinking.

Whats the most difficult job to do on an FD ?

For me the rats nest was a fairly easy job compared to the Heater matrix where I have to get loads out first !!

What do you guys reckon ? I presume an engine rebuild is gonna be fairly high on this list ? Or fuel filter so I hear.

Wallet extraction :Hammer  Fuel filter is \'fun\' not to much of a problem if you have a ramp, think the worst job so far has been changing the rear bumper, engine re-build is complicated but if you have the tools, again is a worthwhile experience.

I would say the fuel filter is a pain. Engines not too bad - a lot to do, but generally much of it seems pretty straight forward (I haven\'t finished yet, so i may be eating my words!)

yep i concur...fuel filter!! Closely followed by boost trouble shooting!

i found the rats nest was the hardest because your bent over the engine bay for ages and it is hard on your back and legs. Fuel filter is easy with ramps.

fuel filter is a pain,  the most pain in the arse for what you are acually doing has to be changing the inlet manifold gasget on a stock engine....   you have to remove the turbos
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

I have to agree with T-Rex, Starting a badly flooded engine would have to be my worsed experiance.

Not a time consuming job, but chainging the pipes on the pre spool actuator in a pit made for people who are younger than 6!!!! now have a bad neck, back & hip from standing kift trying not to knock my head!!! doesn\'t help when it\'s 25 degrees eather!!!

I find jobs you\'re doing for the first time to be nightmarishly difficult. Once you\'ve figured it out though things become a lot easier.

Fitting my efini y-pipe was a tricky one. Just couldn\'t get one nut on the rear turbo undone.
