Here are some of the latest pics of the shell preparation. i plan to have the car completed 1 month before rotorstock. All questions, comments and ideas gratefully recieved.
I plan to update this thread with more pics as and when work is completed.

J4P RX

Are you going to be keeping it street legal Ross?  Its looking like it going to be pretty extreme (which is nice).

Lee

PS, nice Little Miss Mug :D

DRAGON

Yes it will be street legal.
This pic includes the Roll cage.
Also pic of cardboard template of fuel cell. I am moving to the rear seats for optimum wieght distribution, rather than have it hanging out over the rear wheels.

DRAGON

I have been modifying the doors today, loads of weight to be saved. I think they will be about a 1/4 of the weight of normal doors. i was going to get fibreglass ones, but when I started cutting these ones up, i realised how light I can get them.
I am going to have a simple sliding window, rather than electric.

Gman

What power and weight are you hoping to achieve?

DRAGON

I am going for a 1000kg and 500+ at the wheels.
Bridgeported motor with Greddy T88 33d.

t2rew

looking good ross. i see that you like your chassis on the stiff side:)
i dont think thats going anywere

just a thought for your own safty though. in the first pic its clear to see that your using a little miss naugty cup as an axle stand. although your car is much lighter than stock i would say the cup isnt really up to the job. mr  bump is a much better option.

i would also say that the car might be a bit less than 1000k with all the stuff you\'ve taken out.:cool

Carl

Hi Ross,
Looking good,it is excellent to see someone taking Rotorstock seriously.
Are you doing the bridge port yourself of are you getting the motor from Japan.
I have started a new thread on the anything performance related section to see what else is going on.
Kind regards
Carl

DRAGON

Cheers guys, everything on the car is going to be done at my place, form the engine building to the spraying and bodywork.
I think Rotorstock is a realistic target, although these things always take longer than you plan.
Attached is a photo of the engine building room that we have just finished painting and carpeting. Reconise that engine Carl?

Carl

Hi Ross,
Yes I think that engine looks very familiar.I see it is still in one piece.
Have you got any more pics of your car?
Kind regards
Carl

DRAGON

No I ran out of space on the camera, I have just wiped them so will do more 2mora, anything particular you want to see?
We are half way through stich welding the shell the the moment, and then it will be back to completing the cage.

Carl

Hi Ross,
I just wondered how bare the shell is at the moment.
Kind regards
Carl

Are you welding yourself Ross? do you have any picutres of the workshop? it would be great to see where it all happens in darkest exeter :)

Any ideas what colour she\'s gonna b, early days I know...dont get sniffing too much 2-pack now will u :D

Does the cage have to be inspected by any one if the cars road legal? or can u just do what you want?? Looks well nice, very purposeful. About shifting the fuel cell, is weight over the wheels not assisting traction significantly do you think? Are you keeping stock (well u know what I mean!) suspension?

Soo many questions.

Did that bumper get picked up btw??? DHL were meant to collect yesterday??

Ross

Are you going to solid mount the engine/drivetrain, don\'t forget the mod for the subframe. Are you going to do a full or half bridge?
Rich, I think he has some drag specific dampers, it would be cool to see one lift the front wheels, but to do this it needs an engine
:rollin

Ross i think you should build the engine now and put it in another car to run in, otherwise I think you will run out of time;)

DRAGON

Carl here is pick of the shell, to remove all od the sound deadning has taken about 60hrs!!!! Absolute nightmare job.

Rich, My bodyshop guy does the welding, I just tell him whre to put the tubes. More photos of shop to follow.
Not sure what colour, could be anything from matt black to cherry pink, any ideas guys???
Cage does n\'t have tobe inspected to be road legal. Weight transfere should be a problem with the rest of the bits that I have.

Jason, Solid engine and diff mounts, from Kazama. Because I am going to have a side exit, I can weld in loads of sub-frame braces.
Full Bridge.
Could build the engine and run it in another car, or I could close for 2 weeks and build a MONSTER!!!!!!!
