Hi guys, after some hard saving I\'ve just managed to purchase myself a third gen RX-7 (which obviously I\'m fairly excitied about!) Lol!

For my first, of what will prob turn out to be many, stupid questions does anyone know where I can get my hands on a new \'RX-7\' badge for the boot....In all the excitement of buying the car I misssed the fact that the one on there is a bit tatty!  I\'ve tried ebay and a few other placed I could think of with no luck!

Cheers

Hi Topaz

Welcome to the forum, I think you\'ll be able to get the rear badge from reworx, maybe rotaryart and a few other venders sited at the top of the page.  Give them a call and you should get one your after.

Also, dont worry about asking loads of questions as that\'s what the forum is for.  There\'s loads of info on here, try searching first and if you have no luck, post your question up.

Good luck
Jon

Welcome to the club mate  :wave
We\'re all a friendly bunch here so dont be scared to ask anything. No such thing as a silly question.
Have you got any pictures of your new motor then to share with the rest of us?

Cheers guys it\'s nice to know I got people who know what they\'re on about to ask advice from... Got to admit I was a bit wary of the rotary engine at first, I was looking at an Evo until a mate of mine took me to see the RX and I fell in love!

I did tell a slight lie before - I haven\'t actually picked it up yet, getting in Sat hopefully!  Just gota have a few bits done to it before I pick it up (alarm and couple of mods)...signed up on here 1st cause I think I got a bit over excited!!!  Lol!   :Giggle  (I\'m sure you all understand what I mean!!!)

What mods are you doing? Do you know what ECU its running?

Topaz

Don\'t know about the ECU to be honest, I assume it\'s standard.  It has been street ported by RX motors tho, and in addition I\'m having a de-cat pipe fitted (not sure what exhaust exactly is on there but will prob change it anyway), I\'m also having tin forge dump valves fitted and a forge induction kit.  I\'ve also invested in a pretty comprehensive silicone hose set that seems to cover most of the important bits.....nothing really serious yet just a nice bit to get me started!

Mind you my  last car was an Ibiza Cupra 20vT so I think I\'d better take my time and build it up or I will end up killing myself!!!! LOL!

If anyone\'s got any other suggestions for a new starter I\'d appreciate some ideas?

AtomicRex

whereabouts are you?

Im in gloucester too!!  Although the rex isnt with me, as I decided to rearrange a few bits....minor changes to the front wing and bumper...but I get it back in time for my next race at combe on the 24th :)

I\'d hope you have an aftermarket ECU on there and if you haven\'t, get one quick! Tim\'s street ports generally cover the same sort of area as a small African nation, that thing will suck some serious fuel and a stock ECU won\'t last five seconds on full chat!

Welcome to the club though, i\'d spend between now and saturday just reading everything on this forum, you will be amazed what you can learn and the amount of possible disasters you could avoid!

oh and get some pics up!!

this is solid advice.

It cannot be stressed enough the importance of having a properly mapped engine on one of these cars. Bad fueling and timing is a very short path to rebuild time.

Hello all I\'m the afore mentioned guy who dragged him down to look at the purple monster! and here is a pic of it...
